Exclusive: More Details on Behind Your Eyes
Following up on our news item last week regarding executive producer Greg H. Sims’ home-invasion thriller Behind Your Eyes, this scribe contacted Sims to get the 411 on the Southern California-shooting production. Written by Daniel Fanaberia and directed by Clint Lien, Behind Your Eyes is the first in-house feature for new production and distribution entity Vesuvio Entertainment Corporation, of which Sims is CEO (not Tri Coast as originally reported).
Writer and actor Fanaberia (who was brought to Sims’ attention by his turn in The Carpenter Part One: And So They Die, an indie film which Vesuvio has picked up for distribution and for sequels) pitched Behind Your Eyes to Sims in the fall of ’09. In an insanely quick turnaround, Sims attached director Lien, and Behind Your Eyes went before the cameras earlier this month.
“It’s certainly the fastest turnaround from pitch to production that I’ve ever been involved with,” said Sims (pictured left), who is known for having produced numerous high-end indie films from Red Surf with George Clooney and Gene Simmons to Touch Me with Amanda Peet and Michael Vartan (an official opening film for the Toronto International Film Festival) along with indie horror successes To Die For and To Die For II and The Fear and The Fear II.
“To some degree, we are reinventing the wheel a bit when it comes to the approach we’re taking with low budget filmmaking but shooting for high end results,” adds Sims. Akis Konstantakopoulos is the cinematographer, and the cast is headlined by Frida Farrell (Contract Killers) with Tom Sandoval (Puppetmaster: Axis of Evil) and Fanaberia rounding out the leads.
