UPDATE: James Frain and Alfre Woodard Join True Blood in Recurring Roles
And the True Blood casting news keeps on rolling in. Fans of The Tudors and 24 have a lot to be excited about as James Frain (aka Thomas Cromwell and Paul Raines, respectively) has just signed on as recurring character Franklin Mott.
EW’s Ausiello Files got the scoop that Frain’s Franklin Mott, Tara’s over-protective vampire squeeze, will first appear in the second episode of the show’s upcoming third season.
Ausiello goes on to describe Franklin as a tall, dark, and handsome vampire who seems to have an “immediate and torrid” connection to Tara. In the books, Franklin is essentially Tara’s sugar daddy, but [we’re] guessing Alan Ball is taking the character in a different direction.
UPDATE:
According to The Hollywood Reporter Emmy-winning actress Alfre Woodard has been tapped to guest star on Alan Ball’s vampire drama as the mother of Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis), the cook at Merlotte’s who got busted for selling vampire blood and held captive and tortured by Eric (Alexander Skarsgard).
Look for more in the coming days and weeks as we inch ever closer to True Blood‘s Season 3 premiere in June, 2010.
