Corpse Party Film Already Getting a Sequel

The first film may only be a few months old, but a sequel to the Japanese live-action video game adaptation Corpse Party has already been greenlit and will be entering production soon. Director Masashi Yamada and most of the principal cast will return, but the plot is being kept under wraps. It’s set to open in the summer in Japan so expect more details to be coming shortly.

The first film, which has yet to see a Stateside release, mostly followed the plot of the game with the official synopsis reading: “On the last day of a high school festival, the students are locked up at Tenjin Elementary School. A horrific murder took place there, and the school is haunted.”

As the games have something of a cult following in the US, it probably won’t be long before a release is confirmed.
