Brad Pitt Prepared to Enter Capcom's Dark VoidAnother video game is about to be made into a feature film — as a possible franchise for Brad Pitt of all people — and it hasn’t even hit the market yet! The game is Capcom’s Dark Void, which is scheduled for release January 12, 2010.

According to Variety Pitt’s Plan B and Indian media conglom Reliance Big Pictures have inked a deal with vidgame company Capcom to develop a feature film based on the “Dark Void” game as a potential franchise and starring vehicle for the actor. Plan B and Reliance first announced their partnership at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Here’s a synopsis of the game: Something is consuming our universe, a vast and ancient force almost beyond our comprehension. Millions of years ago, the minions of that power found their way to the 3rd planet of an unremarkable yellow star. Ours. The race they created came to call their masters “The Watchers.” For millennia we knew them as gods and served their dark purposes, but a few humans developed extraordinary powers. They were known as the Adepts and they rose up, banishing The Watchers into a parallel universe, where they’ve manipulated and schemed from afar. Until now.

According the Variety story, Pitt would portray a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle following a routine mission and wakes up to find himself in an alternate world resembling a primitive earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over civilization.

Granted, Dark Void may be a bit more sci-fi oriented than straight horror, but we’ll keep an eye on further news as it comes and keep you posted on the project’s progress. In the meantime, check out the game’s trailer below and see what you think.
