When the proof-of-concept trailer for Sky Sharks hit the net earlier this year, we couldn’t help but take notice. After all, it featured zombies riding on goddamn flying sharks. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, the film is headed our way in 2017, and today brings casting news.
We’ve just learned that Tony Todd (Candyman) is the latest horror icon to join the wild and wacky film’s growing cast. Todd will be playing a character named Major General Frost, and you can check out some behind-the-scenes shots from the set below – along with the concept trailer.
The cast also includes Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”), Dieter Laser (The Human Centipede), Lar Park-Lincoln (Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood), Amanda Bearse (Fright Night), Lynn Lowry (Cat People), J. Larose (Insidious), and Nick Principe (Laid to Rest).
Sky Sharks is directed by Marc Fehse from a script he co-wrote with A.D. Morel.
Deep in the ice of the Antarctic, a team of geologists uncover an old Nazi laboratory still intact where dark experiments had occurred. In order to conquer the world, the Nazis created modified sharks who were able to fly and whose riders are genetically mutated, undead super-humans. A military task force called “Dead Flesh Four” – reanimated US soldiers who fell in Vietnam – is put together to prevent world downfall.
