Dance Around Halloween with Them Crooked Vultures
There isn’t much that says “Halloween” quite like dancing skeletons so we’re going to close out this Friday night before All Hallow’s Eve with a little tease of the upcoming video “Gunman” from Them Crooked Vultures – aka Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl on drums, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme on guitar and vocals, and the one and only John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards.
Some call them the latest “super group”, but I call them a welcome and funky alternative to the pre-packaged BS that passes for music these days. You can form you own opinion by listening to the snippet of “Gunman” we have for you below and also “New Fang”, the first single off the band’s self-titled and self-produced 13-song debut album that’s being released November 17 in the United States and Canada on DGC/Interscope Records.
Along with “New Fang”, Them Crooked Vultures (the CD) will include studio versions of the material Them Crooked Vultures (the band) unveiled at their August 9 live show at Chicago’s Cabaret Metro and played on a first series of shows throughout a handful of UK and European cities and portions of the Eastern U.S.
A string of teaser videos have also been posted by the band in anticipation of the November 17 release. Through the Them Crooked Vultures YouTube channel, fans have the chance to preview “Scumbag Blues,” “No One Loves Me & Neither Do I” (studio/animated), and “Elephants”.
The band have also announced their first ever shows in California and the Pacific Northwest: November 17 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, November 19 at the Fox Theater in Oakland, November 21 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, and November 22 at the Roseland Theater in Portland. They’ll be followed by dates in Europe with the band heading to Australia and New Zealand after that.
