Dan Stevens Lands a Colossal Role
Another cast member has signed up for active monster-beating duty as Variety is reporting that The Guest‘s Dan Stevens has joined the cast of Colossal, the indie sci-fi actioner from writer-director Nacho Vigalondo.
Stevens joins the previously announced Anne Hathaway, Tim Blake Nelson, and Austin Stowell in the giant monster flick. Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Open Windows) wrote and will direct Colossal, which has been alternately described as featuring a “giant monster” and a “giant robot.”
Here’s the synopsis previously provided by the Voltage Pictures website:
Hathaway will be playing Gloria in the picture, an ordinary woman who, after losing her job and her fiancé, decides to leave her life in New York to move back to her home town. When news reports start surfacing that a giant monster is destroying the city of Tokyo, Gloria gradually comes to realize that she is connected to these far-off events. In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
