We all prayed as children that we wouldn’t have to go down into the basement, and for whatever irrational reasoning we had, we all were fairly sure that we wouldn’t be coming back up those steps if we did.
In Luke Guidici’s (the director of “Certified” in Zombieworld) 4-minute short Time to Eat, we watch a young lad (Mora) who hesitantly takes those big steps downstairs into the musty basement to retrieve his ball, and all I can offer with such a short duration is that “what went downstairs might NOT be the same that comes back up.” Figure that one out for yourselves.
In all honesty, the short is fast and well directed in its simplicity, and with no dialogue (not that you’d need any), the story plays out without any complication at all. It’s lighthearted, fun, and a little bit mischievous – feel free to give it a once-over if it crawls into your cellar one day.
