Scared Stiff Unleashes Its 50th Short Horror Film

Douglas A. Plomitallo has owned and operated the Scared Stiff web show since 2008, and during that time he has cranked out quite a few short films. Among his most memorable offerings are Tiny’s Halloween, Curse of the Scarecrow, and my personal favorite, Ghostface vs. King Kong. What can I say — I’ve got a soft spot for the giant ape.

It’s clear that Plomitallo and company love the genre, and they’re spent a fair amount of time chilling the bones of the show’s many subscribers. And it looks like they’re still going strong!

Earlier this month, Scared Stiff reached a milestone: its 50th short horror flick! With the release of Till the End of Time, Plomitallo is halfway to 100, which is a remarkable feat by anyone’s calculations. Thanks to the power of the internet, you can watch Scared Stiff’s latest endeavor below.

From the Press Release:
Scared Stiff is an anthology series that features tales of zombies, ghosts, mad men, and an assortment of other horror staples. The majority of the show was filmed in Connecticut, but the show has also been filmed in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Montreal, Wyoming, Montana & Pennsylvania.

When the show first started out, there really were no outlets for original horror online. Today there is a plethora of horror web-series, but back in 2008, there really wasn’t anything out there. So we decided to try it out. 50 movies later, and we are still going strong.

The crew consists of talented horror fans who donate their time to put out quality short films that mask their lack of a budget. Although most scripts were written in-house, several scripts were contributed by author Bob Madia who co-wrote the feature film “You Can’t Kill Stephen King” and by V.M. Zito, who wrote the popular zombie novel “The Return Man.”

Scared Stiff also features several mini-series that can be seen on our YouTube channel. “The Zombie Chronicles” is a four-part zombie mini-series that was completed in 2013 and featured a cameo appearance by ECW & Hardcore wrestling icon Justin Credible. “Jason Xmas” is a fun nine-part fan-series that crosses Jason Voorhees from the “Friday the 13th” series with Santa Claus himself!

Songs for the series have been contributed by bands such as Calabrese, Amy Alley and the Peter Lucibelli Band with original soundtracks composed by Peter Lucibelli, Deyo, and Chris Russo.
