We’ve been looking forward to Syfy’s upcoming new series “Hunters,” from executive producers Gale Anne Hurd (“The Walking Dead,” The Terminator movies) and Natalie Chaidez (“12 Monkeys,” “Heroes”), since we first heard about it.  If you’re curious about it as well, then check out this “first look” video that Syfy has released as part of its New York Comic Con presentation.

The series, which premieres in April 2016, is about a secret government unit dedicated to fighting terrorists – except said terrorists are not of this world. Julian McMahon (“Nip/Tuck”), Britne Oldford (“American Horror Story”), and Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek) star.

Chaidez is the showrunner, and Emile Levisetti (“Royal Pains”) is also an EP. Ernest Dickerson (“The Walking Dead,” “Dexter”) directed the pilot.

“Hunters” is inspired by Whitley Strieber’s bestselling novel Alien Hunter, in which the disappearance of a decorated FBI agent’s wife leads him to a secret government unit. The series will be tonally dark and offer a unique crossover twist between gritty crime drama and sci-fi thriller.
