As we learned last month, Frank Grillo will return as the badass “Sergeant” in upcoming sequel The Purge 3, which Universal has set for release on July 1, 2016. As shooting gets ready to begin in Rhode Island, the cast fills out this week, so read on for all the latest.
Per Deadline, Betty Gabriel, Edwin Hodge, Kyle Secor, JJ Soria, Mykelti Williamson, and Elizabeth Mitchell have all joined the cast of Universal/Blumhouse’s The Purge 3, the latest installment in the microbudget horror series. For now, specific character descriptions remain under wraps.
The third film will reveal the next chapter of the 12 hours of government-sanctioned anarchy in which murder is legal and nobody can help you if you’re stuck outside.
James DeMonaco is writing and directing. Jason Blum will produce along with Sebastien Lemercier and Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller through their Platinum Dunes banner.
