The 8th annual San Antonio Horrific Film Festival is now in the books. For the past eight years, promoter George Ortiz has put together the festival to showcase independent horror, but with another motive in mind. A portion of the proceeds from the festival go to the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit designed to help injured soldiers and their families.

This year, the festival came from the Korova Club in San Antonio and featured bands and a cosplay contest as well as celebrity guests. Featured acts included the Frantic Flintstones, Mariachis Del Inferno, and Las Cruces Dusk. Celebrity guests this year were Gil Gerard (“Buck Rogers”); Arch Hall Jr. (The Sadist); Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior, Commando); Chris Element (Ink Masters); Authors Veronica Stich and Scott A. Johnson; and Apache Ramos, Michael Beck and David Harris from The Warriors. Also included in the festivities was Barbara Leigh (pictured), the original model for Vampirella.
