Gabriel Chavarria Goes to War for the Planet of the Apes

Fox is in need of a hit. With both the second Hitman and fourth Fantastic Four films tanking at the box office, all eyes are on another X-Men and the Apes (man, what a dream spinoff that would be, huh?) to turn things around.
Speaking of the latter, some quick casting news has arrived as Deadline is reporting that Gabriel Chavarria (pictured; Low Riders, “Aquarius“) is in talks to play one of the third film’s two human leads in War for the Planet of the Apes.
Matt Reeves returns to direct, and the film is shooting for an October start date in Vancouver.
