Dominic Monaghan Starring in Indie Thriller Pet

Originally set up at MGM, the thriller Pet has been in the works since way back in 2007, and it’s been somewhat of a pet project for Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings, I Sell the Dead) for the past several years. Today, we’re happy to report, production is finally under way.
Per THR, Carles Torrens (Apartment 143) is behind the camera for the movie, which began production this week. Dominic Monaghan, Ksenia Solo (“Orphan Black”), Jennette McCurdy (“iCarly”), and Nathan Parsons (“True Blood”) are attached to star.
Written by Jeremy Slater, the story centers on an introverted man who imprisons a woman, only to find the tables turned on him. The project is said to be tonally in the vein of Gone Girl and Hard Candy.
Pet is a co-production between Revolver Picture Company and Spanish company Magic Lantern. Torrens is producing alongside Revolver’s Nick Phillips and Kelly Martin Wagner.
