Aykroyd: More on Ghostbusters 3
I’m honestly not sure how I feel about the new Ghostbusters movie on the horizon. It’s great to hear that most of the original cast has agreed to come back for a reunion, but it’s all this talk of “new recruits” that’s got me more than a little nervous. I’m not so sure I want to spend the majority of a long-awaited third film with a “hip” new cast, although I suppose if it’s the only way we’re going to see these guys again, then what the hell …
Dan Aykroyd has been talking to The Guardian about the new film and he had this to say: There’ll be a whole new generation that has to be trained and a leader that you’ll all love when you meet her … There’ll be lots of cadets, boys and girls who’ll be learning how to use the neuron splitter and the inter-planet interceptor – new tools to enable them to slip from dimension to dimension.”
It sounds like it could be a good time, providing the filmmakers strike the right balance between the original cast and the new guys (and gals). It’d be cool to get some new blood in the franchise, but not at the cost of relegating the primary characters to extended cameos. And don’t forget about Sony’s Ghostbusters Blu-ray, hitting store shelves on June 16, day and date with the much-anticipated video game. Pre-order them all below!
