New Line Cinema Gives Life to The Children
There’s nothing I love more than seeing the New Line Cinema logo at the start of a horror film, as it reminds me of all those formative childhood viewings of the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels. Today comes word that the company has scooped up a new horror flick, so read on.
Per Deadline, New Line has just finalized a deal to purchase The Children, a pitch that came from writing duo Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. The project is being put on the fast track, and New Line hopes to begin production early next year.
In the film a social worker investigating the mysterious disappearance of two children discovers her own family might also be in jeopardy.
The site also reports that Daughtry and Iaconis just adapted the 2011 Spanish film Sleep Tight for producers Peter Block and Guy Stodel.
