Keanu Reeves Heads to the Lab for Dr. Jekyll & Mr. HydeTed “Theodore” Logan is no stranger to the horror genre. He’s starred in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Devil’s Advocate, and Constantine (among others).

Now, Keanu Reeves is about to test his ability to perform dual personalities because THR reported tonight he’s set to take on the title role(s) in Universal’s remake of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson story “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.”

Look, I know that Reeves gets a lot of grief for his wooden performances, but the guy can act when given something challenging to do. Don’t believe me? Go rewatch his performance as Donnie in The Gift and then tell me I am wrong.

I might be in the minority here, but I am kinda psyched to see him do something a little more challenging than his latest outing in the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still. I honestly don’t think it’s an accident that the guy has stayed busy for almost 25 years in the biz.

Justin Haythe (who penned the recent Oscar bait flick Revolutionary Road) wrote the script for Jekyll, and Nicolas Winding Refn, who is responsible for the Pusher film series (which is pretty good if you haven’t seen it), is in negotiations to direct.
