Big Names Lined up for Thriller Tribes of October
Well, if this casting line-up doesn’t impress you, then I am not sure what will!
The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Ray Stevenson (pictured), Jaime King and Stephen Moyer, along with Robert Duvall and James Caan, will star in a new post-apocalyptic thriller called Tribes of October. Tribes is being helmed by Philippe Martinez, who is also producing the film.
THR described Tribes of October as a film set in a future in which New York has become surrounded by an endless desert plagued by heat storms, and the city’s technology is such that nothing made after 1960 works anymore. In this environment, a detective (Stevenson) goes after a Mafia don (Caan) who is going after the remnants of the NYPD, led by Duvall. The detective is simultaneously searching for the love of his life (King). Moyer plays a cynical and street-smart detective.
Filming should start sometime during the summer in Michigan.
Martinez recently directed The Steam Experiment, a thriller starring Val Kilmer that just enjoyed a very limited theatrical release earlier this month. Stevenson was recently seen kicking some serious ass in Punisher: War Zone, and genre fans know King from her work in either My Bloody Valentine or The Tripper.
Moyer is currently portraying one of the hottest vampires on TV right now with his role on HBO’s True Blood. And if you have no idea who Duvall or Caan are, well, that’s just incredibly sad since they are two of the most prolific actors of the last 40 years.
No release date has been scheduled yet for Tribes of October.
