The Unwanted Explores the Mystery of Elisa Lam
The mystery surrounding the death of Elisa Lam is scarier than any horror movie. The woman’s story went viral after footage of her unusual behavior inside an elevator at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles was posted online. What’s even creepier is that her body was found in the hotel’s rooftop water tank weeks after her disappearance. How she managed to get in there is anybody’s guess.
Not surprisingly, Elisa Lam’s tragic end has inspired several filmmakers, one of whom recently launched a Kickstarter campaign. The Unwanted, written and directed by Sushi Girl writer/producer Destin Pfaff, will attempt to unravel the mystery behind Lam’s chilling death. Tony Todd, Rachel Federoff, and Andy Mackenzie have already signed on for the project.
As of this writing, The Unwanted is still short of its Kickstarter goal. If you’re interested to see this story play out, then stop by the campaign page and give Pfaff some money. And if you’ve got nerves of steel, have a look at the Elisa Lam elevator footage below. It’s truly the stuff of nightmares.
