Hideo Nakata’s Ghost Theatre (Gekijourei) Selling in the Far East

Few names are as synonymous with Japanese horror as Hideo Nakata. According to Screen Daily, his latest film, Ghost Theatre, or Gekijourei for you purists out there, has been sold by Nikkatsu to Red Pictures LTD. for the Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei markets. No word yet on a domestic release, but the film will be hitting Japanese theaters in the third quarter of this year.

Ghost Theatre stars Haruka Shimazaki, Rika Adachi, Riho Takada, and Keita Machida.

Synopsis:
A young actress, Sara, who lands a leading role in a major play, soon encounters bitter rivalry amongst her fellow cast members which escalates into out-and-out hatred. Strange things start happening at rehearsals, and Sara begins to investigate a very real and menacing threat.
