With “Scream” set to premiere at 10pm tonight on MTV, we have two juicy tidbits of news about the series.  First, director Ti West (The Sacrament, The House of the Devil) revealed on Twitter that he’s directing at least one episode during the upcoming Season 1; and second, it sounds like we might be seeing some familiar faces during the show’s run.

Below is West’s tweet.  Once we know which episode(s) he’s directing, we’ll let you know.

As for whether or not we might see some of the film franchise’s stars appearing in the MTV version, Business Insider asked Tony DiSanto, former MTV programming president, founder of production studio DiGa, and an executive producer on the “Scream” series, if there might be any cameos from the movies’ stars, and he didn’t say no. “I don’t want to give too much away, but I think it’s safe to say that you’ll see some surprises along the way,” he teased.

“Scream” stars Willa Fitzgerald as Emma, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Audrey, Amadeus Serafini as Kieran, John Karna as Noah, Tom Maden as Jake, Connor Weil as Will, Carlson Young as Brooke, Tracy Middendorf as Maggie, Amelia Rose Blaire as Piper, and Jason Wiles as Sheriff Hudson. Jamie Travis directed the pilot.

After a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, the shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others, and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens – with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart – become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets, and victims of a killer who’s out for blood.
