Dead Sucks Set for Premiere This Weekend
For those of you who are planning to attend Philadelphia’s Backseat Film Fest this weekend, you are in for a special treat.
BiFF Productions and writer/director Elias will be on hand for the world premiere of their short film “Dead Sucks”. There is a full-length version out there that was intended as a TV-pilot, but for now, those involved have adapted the project into a 7-minute short film.
The official synopsis is as follows: Introducing Burt, a wayward vampire with a messy past, an uncertain future and a disproportionate need for sleep. Rejected by both humans and his own kind, he searches to find his place in a world where the only thing that sucks more than being alive is being dead.
Pursued by a Stranger with a thirst for more than blood, and a mad trucker hellbent on taking his “gift”, Burt finds an unlikely ally when he crosses paths with Betsy, a punkish girl who knows how to kick some ass and doesn’t look back. Will Burt escape the the Stranger that stalks his every move? Will he find in Betsy someone to share his cursed existence with, or will he be doomed to a life of endless hitchhiking and one-night stands?

While the film doesn’t look like anything that reinvents the wheel, the trailer definitely sells it as a tasty little slice of horror/comedy.
