Forest Whitaker in Talks to Fly With The Crow

The Ghost Dog himself, Forest Whitaker, is in talks to join the new version of The Crow. The announcement was buried in a story on Variety about Whitaker also starring in Star Wars: Rogue One. Don’t worry; he won’t be playing Eric Draven, though on some psychotic level that would be truly inspired casting!

Last we heard, Andrea Riseborough would be playing Top Dollar, a character who was memorably brought to life by Michael Wincott in the original 1994 film. Jack Huston is the new Eric Draven, and Jessica Brown Findlay is possibly the new Shelly. The Hallow‘s Corin Hardy is directing.

The film is being produced by Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original film in the franchise, Kevin Misher, Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh, and Jeff Waxman. Relativity president Tucker Tooley and Harvey and Bob Weinstein are executive producers. James O’Barr (who created the comics) is serving as a consultant.
