‘Revival’ Showrunner Aaron B. Koontz On Adapting The Hit Horror Comic Series

When Aaron B. Koontz met Luke Boyce, he knew they had to work together. He produced Boyce’s film, Revealer, so when Boyce approached him with the idea of adapting the comic series, Revival, into a TV series, Koontz was all in. The series, created by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, is a mysterious, funny, and gross take on zombie lore that unfolds like a neo-noir mystery.

Read the full synopsis below:

On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased have suddenly come back to life. But this is no zombie story as the “revived” appear and act just like they once were. As the mystery of this phenomenon fuels unrest, Officer and single mother Dana Cypress is thrust into the center of an unusual murder investigation—one where the murder victim is alive. And now, it is up to Dana to unravel the truth amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion, where everyone, living or revived, is a suspect.

We spoke with Koontz about being part of the writers’ room, casting their Dana, and the big swings coming later in the season.
