‘Dangerous Animals’ Director Sean Byrne and Star Jai Courney Talk Their Shark Serial Killer Film

Dangerous Animals

Director Sean Byrne is known for his gnarly films, from his debut feature The Loved Ones to his sophomore effort The Devil’s Candy. Now, for this third feature, Byrne is taking to the high seas with Dangerous Animals. Starring Jai Courtney as a shark-loving serial killer, Byrne’s latest genre outing is a bloody nightmare (quite literally) and the perfect summer watch.

In the film, “When Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.”

We spoke with Byrne and Courtney about that iconic dance scene, getting into the head of Captain Tucker, and the power of music in horror.
