‘Slayers’ Actor Malin Åkerman Shares Her ‘Watchmen’ Experience

Slayers Malin Akerman

Actor Malin Åkerman got her start in Hollywood in rom-coms and small television roles. Then, she landed the role of Silk Spectre II in Zack Snyder’s adaptation of Alan Moore’s graphic novel, Watchmen. One of her first major roles and dressed in a lot of spandex, Åkerman proved her acting chops among performers such as Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, and Carla Gugino. Since then, she’s dabbled in many genres, the most recent being horror with the new film, Slayers.

In Slayers, Åkerman plays an eccentric billionaire and ancient vampire looking to trick a group of influencers called The Stream Team. She wants to use them to plan vampiric world domination. But not if vampire slayer Elliot Jones (Thomas Jane) has something to say about it.

Åkerman spoke with Dread Central about her new film Slayers, as well as her amazing experience working with Zach Snyder on Watchmen.
