‘White’ – Kate Beckinsale Joins Shark Survival Thriller from Jake West

Underworld‘s Kate Beckinsale will next take a stab at the shark survival subgenre with White, an action-thriller from director Jake West (Evil Aliens) that also stars Katherine McNamara (pictured below in Maze Runner: The Death Cure), reports THR.
The story follows Willa Harba, a struggling actress traveling overseas for a shoot with a self-obsessed movie star, when their private jet crashes into the Pacific Ocean.
Now stranded alone on a fractured plane wing surrounded by open water, Willa’s only connection to the outside world is a satellite phone salvaged from the wreckage.
When she attempts to call for rescue, her demanding studio boss Barbara — played by Beckinsale — dismisses her pleas. Instead, the signal is intercepted by marine biologist Sam Swatek, played by McNamara, who delivers terrifying news: Willa has crashed in the middle of the infamous White Shark Café, a region of ocean where great white sharks gather to feed.
Casting is currently underway for the role of Willa, with principal photography set to begin this summer across Bulgaria, England, and the United States.
The screenplay is written by Dan Schaffer, creator of cult comic series Dogwitch. Beckinsale will also executive produce the feature.
White is produced by Yariv Lerner (Rambo: Last Blood, Hellboy), Dominic Burns (Jay and Silent Bob Reboot), Crawford Anderson-Dillon (5lbs of Pressure), and Sky Morfopoulos (Wildcat).
Executive producers include Beckinsale, Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier, Patrick Wintersgill, Kevin Glynn, Pauric Duffy, and Hannah Leader.
