New ‘Leviticus’ Images Tease a Horror Story of Forbidden Love

Make new what was defiled; two fires, one to defile and one to reform.

NEON (LonglegsInfinity Pool, Possessor) has ignited anticipation for its next horror film, Leviticus, sharing new images from its queer horror entry, which opens in theaters on June 19, 2026.

Adrian Chiarella‘s chilling festival hit follows two star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.

“I’d wanted to merge my love of horror with homophobia because, if you think about it, horror movies are always about fear, and homophobia is a type of fear,” Chiarella previously told EW.

Interestingly, he initially thought of making “The Exorcist, only it’s gay,” but decided that the messaging of that concept was counterintuitive to the intent.

Leviticus has Mia Wasikowska’s comeback after three years, and also stars Talk to Me‘s Joe Bird, as well as Stacy Clausen (Crazy Fun Park), Jeremy Blewitt (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart), Ewen Leslie (Nightingale), David McKenzie (Silent Night), Nicholas Hope (Bad Boy Bubby) and Zhara Newman (Thirteen Lives).

The film, hailing from Australia, recently had its World Premiere, and we rounded up reviews from around the community.

Leviticus is rated R for “bloody violent content, language, some sexual content and teen drug use.”

Here are some fresh stills.
