‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’ – Netflix Shares First Look at the Gang
Netflix has released a first look image at the upcoming live-action “Scooby-Doo: Origins” series. It reveals the whole gang with one notable absence…Scooby himself. The VFX-created talking dog is probably just off getting some Scooby-snacks.
Billed as a modern reimagining of the more than 50yr-old world of “Scooby-Doo”, the eight-episode series is set to take viewers back to the very beginning.
“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
Tanner Hagen (The Pitt, Dark Light), Abby Ryder Fortson (Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) and Mckenna Grace (Scream 7), Paul Walter Hauser (The Naked Gun) and Frank Welker (the voice of Scooby) star.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as showrunners and executive producers alongside André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Adrienne Erickson for Midnight Radio. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman will executive produce via Berlanti productions.
Toby Haynes executive produces and directs.
