Watch 7 Minutes of ‘Gears of War: E-Day’ Guns, Blood and Chainsaws; Xbox Exclusive Launches October 6
Microsoft used the Xbox Games Showcase to reveal new gameplay from Gears of War: E-Day, giving fans their first look at the events of Emergence Day.
Set 14 years before the original Gears of War, the game follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as they face the Locust Horde when it first emerges from beneath the planet. The story focuses on the beginning of their friendship and humanity’s desperate fight to survive.
During the Gears of War: E-Day Direct, developers showed more of the campaign and explained how the game combines the series’ signature action and atmosphere with new gameplay ideas.
Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud gaming, and Game Pass. It is also an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
Players who pre-order the game will receive early access to the open beta beginning August 6, 2026, along with the Exfil Dom Character Skin and Exfil Weapon Skin Set when the game launches.
