Watch Michael Myers Get His Mask In 'Halloween: The Game' Trailer Narrated by Dr. Loomis!

We were recently provided with an insane new trailer for Halloween: The Game, based on John Carpenter’s iconic 1978 horror franchise. And what I saw shook me.

For any fan of the Halloween franchise, this trailer is pure goosebumps. We get to witness two of horror’s most iconic moments — Michael’s escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and also his theft of that legendary mask from Nichols Hardware Store — brought to life in a way we’ve never seen before.

What makes the trailer truly special, though, is that it is narrated entirely by Dr. Loomis. While the great Donald Pleasence is no longer with us, whoever steps into the role delivers a loving and deeply respectful homage to the character. It’s the kind of trailer that reminds you why this franchise has endured for nearly 50 years, and it’s the first thing that has me genuinely excited for this game.

In the Halloween game, players are dropped into an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror experience that pits them against the boogeyman himself, Michael Myers. And for those who would rather do the slashing, you’ll be able to take on the role of Myers as well. Players will have to work together as they make their way through Haddonfield in an attempt to alert the authorities, all while surviving the blade of The Shape.

Make sure to visit the game’s official website for more details.

Halloween: The Game is set to bring Michael home when it releases September 8th, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. You can also follow the game’s progress on FacebookInstagram, and TikTok.

A Legacy of Fear: From Camp Crystal Lake to Haddonfield

Survival horror games based on classic slasher franchises have carved out a devoted fanbase over the past decade. Friday the 13th: The Game arrived in 2017 and became an instant hit, letting players stalk camp counselors as Jason Voorhees in a tense, asymmetrical multiplayer experience. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre followed in 2023, putting a fresh spin on the formula with the Slaughter family terrorizing a new set of victims. Now, Michael Myers is stepping into the arena, and if the legacy of these franchises is any indication, Halloween: The Game could be the scariest entry yet.
