Must Read: MEN IN BLACK Scribe Offers Invaluable Advice to Screenwriters in Epic Twitter Thread

Leigh Whannell is a 21st Century Master of Horror; along with James Wan, he helped mastermind both the Saw and Insidious franchises, not to mention his recent solo effort, the ultra-violent Upgrade. While he’s certainly a wellspring of moviemaking knowledge, someone any up-and-comer would love to receive mentorship from, he recently shared an epic Twitter thread from Men in Black/Bill & Ted scribe Ed Solomon. In Whannell’s own words, he couldn’t have said it better. Via Twitter:

“OK aspiring writers, this thread is better than a screenwriting book and it’s free. When someone else writes down exactly how I feel about screenwriting, word for word, I’m not going to rip it off or put it in my own words, I’m just going to say READ THIS NOW Study it. Then write!”

Check out Solomon’s Twitter thread below (click for full conversation) and, seriously, if you have screenwriting aspirations, take it to heart!
