Oscar Isaac Endorses Ryan Gosling for Ghost Rider in Marvel's 'Midnight Sons'

The MCU is expanding with a feature film adaptation of Midnight Sons, which has been in development for a few years now.

Last we heard, Marvel had reportedly scrapped its long-troubled Blade reboot and instead plans to reintroduce the character in Midnight Sons.

Blade is also a core member of Marvel’s Midnight Sons, a supernatural-focused team introduced in the early 1990s that brings together characters who deal with vampires, demons, and occult threats. As a half-vampire with extensive combat experience, Blade frequently serves as the group’s frontline fighter and specialist against undead enemies, appearing in multiple Midnight Sons comic storylines alongside characters such as Ghost Rider, Morbius, Doctor Strange, and even Moon Knight.

In a new interview with Oscar Isaac, who played Moon Knight in the live-action Disney+ series, he reveals that Marvel is still active with the Midnight Sons, but doesn’t offer any insight into how far along they are in development. However, a fun bit that came from the interview is that Isaac also endorses the fan-driven request for Ryan Gosling to play Ghost Rider: “Make it happen, fellas. I mean, it’s a no-brainer.”

All signs point to Midnight Sons remaining a priority for Marvel Studios, even if details are still tightly under wraps. With Blade potentially being reintroduced through the project and Oscar Isaac signaling continued movement behind the scenes, the film appears to be shaping up as a key entry in the MCU’s darker, supernatural corner.
