‘Crawlers’ – Spider Horror Film Starring Matilda Lutz Creeps Into Theaters this October

Some terrible news for all you arachnophobes out there (me). Via Deadline, Roadside Attractions and Saban Films have acquired the spider horror film Crawlers from director Angel Gómez Hernández.
In the film, “Serena, the overworked and under-appreciated manager of the Paradiso Palms apartment complex, discovers a mysterious death. But what begins as a suspected viral outbreak quickly spirals into something far more terrifying: a catastrophic infestation of venomous spiders spreading rapidly through the building. Trapped by a quarantine with no way out, residents are forced into a desperate fight for survival as the threat multiplies by the second. Armed only with her intimate knowledge of the building, Serena may be the only one who can keep them alive — if she can confront her deepest fear.”
Jayson Rothwell (Silent Night) penned the script.
Matilda Lutz (Revenge) stars. I loved her in Revenge, and I look forward to her kicking the ass of these creepy crawlies.
Crawlers marks the first feature from Badlands, the new collaboration between Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee’s Thunder Road — the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster John Wick and Sicario franchises — and longtime studio executive Scott Strauss (The Resident Evil and Underworld franchise).
Said Roadside Attractions Co-Presidents Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff, “We knew we wanted Crawlers the moment we saw it. It’s a viciously entertaining thrill ride, as fun as it is terrifying.“
Added Saban Films Co-Presidents Shanan Becker and Jonathan Saba, “Crawlers is a uniquely visceral horror experience that gets under your skin in the best way possible. It’s a true, unapologetic genre film that delivers the kind of squirm-in-your-seat, racing-heart moments that horror fans live for.“
Say no more. I’m ready to be scared out of my mind and itchy all over.
Look for Crawlers to creep into theaters on October 2nd.
