I’ve been in Boston for a few years now, but for some reason it seems like I always find out about the cool stuff going down here too late. Well no more! I’m keeping tabs on things in my town now, and because of that I found out that the Boston Underground Film Festival just unleashed this year’s screening schedule.

Kasten, Jeremy (Wizard of Gore) Audio
Interview by: Johnny Butane
I first got the chance to talk to Jeremy Kasten a few years back when he did a little movie I was obsessed with seeing called The Attic Expeditions. It starred Jeffrey Combs, Seth Green and Ted Raimi; and its director, Kasten, was a very cool guy to chat with.
It’s been a few years since that interview, but happily we reconnected recently so I could pick his brain about his upcoming remake of Herschel Gordon Lewis’ Wizard of Gore (we were on the Wizard set here!), which is shaping up to be his best film to date. Combs again stars along with Crispin Glover in the lead, Brad Dourif, Bijou Phillips and many more. Here’s how the conversation sounded; it’s almost like you were listening in on the conversation! Wait ... You weren’t, were you?
Be sure to hit the official site for Wizard of Gore when you’re done to learn more!

On the Set of The Wizard of Gore
Sure, we’re all sick of remakes. But The Wizard Gore - director Jeremy (The Attic Expeditions) Kasten’s take on the 1970 Herschell Gordon Lewis film - is something very unique. Featuring a variable dream cast of genre actors led by cult icon Crispin Glover, this indie shocker came seemingly out of nowhere and has already taken precedence as one the year’s most anticipated releases.
