Nacho Cerda Updates Us on Abandoned!

We’ve not heard too much about the feature length debut from Aftermath director Nacho Cerda, Abandoned (formerly Bloodline) for a while, but thankfully that’s because they’ve been working night and day to make the film ready for the world at large.

Cerda dropped us a line here at Dread Central with word on how things are going: “We are now mixing sound in Barcelona after recording music in Moscow for a week at the beginning of June. Another four weeks and the film will be physically finished.” Truly that is some great news, especially since I got this correspondence from Nacho in the middle of June, which means we’ve probably only got a few weeks left.

“I can tell you that there are scenes in this movie that scare the hell out of me even!” he enthused. “With the right sound and music I see the whole thing now come together very nicely and look forward to see it with an audience. I really believe that it will be quite a hypnotic trip for most of them.”

How I would love to be a part of that audience, too! I was hoping it would premiere at Fantasia this year, but unfortunately it’s not going to be done in time. Hopefully Filmax have some big plans for this one instead of just selling it off to Lionsgate for a direct-to-DVD dump; I want to see Abandoned on the big screen, even if it’s just in a festival setting.
