Skinny Puppy Does Repo?

Man, I love any kind of news we can get about Darren Lynn Bousman’s upcoming rock opera Repo! The Genetic Opera, but when that news can be combined with mentioning Skinny Puppy, I feel like a kid again.
Indeed, Bloody Disgusting has learned that Nivek Ogre (aka Kevin Graham Ogilvie, not nearly as scary of a name) is in final talks to lend his voice to Bousman’s upcoming epic about organ harvesting in the year 2056. If it does work out, well, that’s just badass on quite a few levels. If you’re not familiar with Skinny Puppy, be sure you get on iTunes or something and fix that.
If the talks go through, Ogre will be joining Bill Moseley, Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega and Paris Hilton in the “actors who can sing” cast, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more soon since production starts in just under a month up in Toronto. Lionsgate will release the film on April 25th, 2008… theoretically. Something tells me they’re not going to have a clue how to market this one!
