UPDATED – Rob Zombie Begins The Hills Have Eyes?

The pillar of truth known as IMDb is reporting that Rob Zombie is currently writing an animated screen adaptation of Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti’s graphic novel The Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning, an origin story of how the cannibalistic mutants came to be and who they were before the accident.
The site also lists Zombie as one of the voices and executive producer. We’ve reached out to both Palmiotti and Zombie for comment and validation. For now we’d just take it with a grain of salt.
The 2007 Fox Atomic graphic novel The Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning tells the story of the original families who refused to leave their small New Mexico town once the U.S. government began above-ground atomic testing. Spanning multiple generations, this dark tale reveals how these once good people slowly devolved into murderous mutants.
Update 1 – 5:00PM PT:
We heard from Jimmy Palmiotti, and he says he knows nothing about it. Waiting to hear from Zombie, but we’re currently leaning to the BS side of the fence.
