Next week on Tuesday, the 10th of February, the ghoulish guys and gals at Grimm Up North begin screening a very special selection of films based on the works of horror fiction master Stephen King, which includes the UK premiere of A Good Marriage.

In addition, Stephen King Season will feature classics such as Carrie (19 February), Salem’s Lot (12 March), Creepshow (9 April), and Pet Sematary (30 April).

Stephen King’s A Good Marriage (review here) features an amazing cast that includes Joan Allen (“The Killing”), Anthony LaPaglia (“Without a Trace”), Kristen Connoly (Cabin in the Woods), and Stephen Lang (“Salem,” Avatar).  It is based on a King novella which was published in his short story collection Full Dark, No Stars.  King, who is often critical of adaptations of his work, said the film “will scare the hell out of millions of people. To me, that’s always an exciting prospect.”

Synopsis:
When her husband (LaPaglia) of more than twenty years is away on one of his business trips, Darcy Anderson (Allen) looks for batteries in the garage. Instead she discovers the stranger inside her husband. It’s a horrifying discovery, rendered with bristling intensity, and it definitively ends a good marriage.
