Horror History: Dark Sky Shares Outtakes from Original Texas Chain Saw Massacre

One of the biggest treats we horror fans received this Halloween season was Dark Sky’s 40th anniversary release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which came our way in several different forms, including a Deluxe Edition “Black Maria” set (review) that was quite frankly to die for. TO. DIE. FOR.

The set was absolutely loaded with bonus content both new and old, and one of the brand new features was a highlight reel of never-before-seen outtakes from the original film. A true treat for Chain Saw fans who thought they had seen it all, the clips restore a lost aspect of the classic film, inviting you to be a fly on the wall of that sweaty Texas set.

Today, in celebration of Halloween, Dark Sky has uploaded those outtakes on YouTube for all to see. So if you haven’t yet picked up the set, or just don’t have the budget for it, then click the play button below to see some great behind-the-scenes footage from the film, showing the making of several of the most well known scenes!

We love you, Dark Sky. We really love you.
