Around Halloween we try to be all treat and no trick here at Dread Central, and we definitely have something tasty for you right now. Director Todd Rohal (interview), who helmed the “P is for P-P-P-P Scary” segment of ABCs of Death 2,recently let us know what his favorite cinema death is.

Even cooler? The rest of the directors involved in the project shared their favorites too… but in video form! Get ready for some REALLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK action!

TOP SECRET!
There was no death more shocking to me as a kid than the soldier that gets shot, falls, and shatters into a million pieces in Top Secret!,” Rohal tells us. “This traumatized me more than the girls in The Shining and the girl with no mouth in Twilight Zone: The Movie. Yes, I knew it was a comedy, and I loved it more than I loved Airplane!, but while lying awake at night and replaying the movie in my head, I could not deal with the thoughts of a death like this being possible. The loneliest, most unexpected way to go — just shattering into oblivion and silence. This (and thoughts of the lonely death of the Russian space dog Laika) made for more than a few sleepless nights pondering death, oblivion, and the literal fragility of life. RIP, you miserable, brittle Nazi in Top Secret!

When you’re done with the video below, be sure to check out ABCs of Death 2 (review) now On Demand, and look for it in theaters this Halloween.
