#NYCC14: Sam Raimi Gets His Very Own Action Figure

default-featured-image

When it comes to horror filmmakers, few are as beloved by fans as Sam Raimi, without whom The Evil Dead never would’ve become a thing. Some of his greatest creations have been given the action figure treatment over the years, including Ash and Darkman, and now Raimi himself has received such an honor.

Exclusively available at this year’s New York Comic-Con is the first ever Sam Raimi toy, created by Beau Greener of Credenda Studios. While Ash of course ended up acquiring a chainsaw-hand in the Evil Dead films, Raimi has been given a camera-hand for this highly unique figure, which seems only fitting.

Each of the toys is housed inside custom-made packaging, which evokes the spirit of the Necronomicon. A mere 50 of the hand-painted and completely handmade action figures have been whipped up, making this a hot collector’s item that’s sure to sell out before you can say ‘Kandarian Demon.’

Selling exclusively at the Tenacious Toys booth (#208), the Sam Raimi figures are priced at $65 apiece, a price tag that’s due to their limited and painstakingly handmade nature. Greener will be signing the figures at the booth on Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to stop by if you want to compliment him on his incredible work!
