From the Press Release
The writing/directing team of Kenny Gage and Devon Downs will host the worldwide premiere of their new horror film, Parlor, during this year’s Screamfest film festival. The well-known genre festival kicks off its 14th annual event in Los Angeles on October 14-23 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres (6801 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028).

The film follows six young college hopefuls vacationing and partying in Eastern Europe who get more than they bargained for when they unwittingly get caught up in a maniacal tattoo artist’s fiendish side business.

Parlor stars Robert Lasardo (“Nip/Tuck,” Death Race, Human Centipede III) as the character known as “The Artist,” who runs an Eastern European tattoo parlor. As writer/director Kenny Gage (Raze) explains, “We were very fortunate to have had the opportunity shoot in Old Town, Vilnius, Lithuania. The sense of scale, scope, and historical architecture provided a unique backdrop for the film.”

Co-writer and director Devon Downs delves deeper, “It’s common to get tattooed while on vacation, and you are never more vulnerable than when you are being tattooed… especially in unfamiliar territory.”

The film was financed by ASL Pictures and produced by the veteran team of Todd Slater, Andrew Pagana, Bill Ceresia, Thomas Mahoney, and Brett Donowho. The film also stars Jordan James Smith, Tiffany DeMarco, Ben Whalen, Claire Garvey, Anthony Del Negro, Beth Humphreys, Joey Fisher, and real life tattoo artist Sara Fabel in the ultimate bad girl role of Uta.

Robert Lasardo commented, “It was clear to me Kenny and Devon were serious about showcasing a fully developed character arc with which I could finally show some range. I feel it is my most ambitious effort to date.”
