The fifth annual Mile High Horror Film Festival kicks off in Denver on October 9th, and the weekend of events will include screenings of films both new and old. This year, however, things are looking to get really spaced out!

From the Press Release:
At this year’s Mile High Horror Film Festival, we are doing things a little differently. We are introducing for the first-time ever a sci-fi film night with features and shorts from the genre that will make you forget about the last three Star Wars films. We promise you’ll thank us later!

We understand that sometimes the lines between horror and sci-fi are blurred. So with that in mind, we are taking this necessary step to continue to deliver the best films from around the world to you, our fans.

On Saturday night we will show a sci-fi thriller that debuted at this year’s Fantastia Film Festival, THE RECONSTRUCTION OF WILLIAM ZERO – A geneticist who wakes up from an accident with only fragments of his memory is forced to relearn who he is via his twin brother. But as he digs deeper, he discovers he might not be who he thought at all. This film is directed by Dan Bush, whose film credits include THE SIGNAL and GHOST OF OLD HIGHWAYS.

To make this night even better, we are introducing a 72-minute short film block that includes a little bit of everything that we love about the genre. The short films include: CODA (winner of best animation short at SXSW), SEQUENCE (an 18-time award winner), THE WASHING MACHINE, REMORA, CHOCOLATE HEART, LATE FOR MEETING, and PROSPECT.
