Info on The Hunger Games Soundtrack; Star Jennifer Lawrence Performs!
Fans of The Hunger Games looking for new info on the currently filming adaptation got a bone thrown their way today with an update on the score, an all-star collaboration between T-Bone Burnett and Danny Elfman. In addition Burnett confirmed that star Jennifer Lawrence will be heard singing on the soundtrack.
Burnett told MTV News that not only will the filmmakers be releasing Hunger GamesYeah, we did," Burnett said when asked if Lawrence had recorded anything in the studio, "and it was beautiful. She did great. She's singing great. Killer actor, too."
The 21-year-old actress recorded "Rue's Lullaby," a song her character Katniss sings after Rue, a young tribute in the Games, is mortally wounded, and Burnett promises it will be coming out soon.
While Burnett and Elfman are ready to release Lawrence's recording, the two Grammy winners are only just getting started on their Hunger Games work. What they have planned has blown Burnett away. "It's 300 years in the future so we can take all sorts of liberties," Burnett said of the story. "[Elfman's] got an incredible space he's put together. It's the most incredible studio I've ever seen, and he's got drums and marimbas and a cimbalom — just crazy instruments everywhere. We're just going to go over there and rock out. I think we're just going to play together. We're going to do it together."
