Ryuhei Kitamura and Stephen King Making a Home Delivery
After tackling Clive Barker's work with The Midnight Meat Train, director Ryuhei Kitamura is now moving on to another literary genius ... Stephen King as Our Thing Productions is readying a live action adaptation of the Nightmares and Dreamscapes zombie tale "Home Delivery".
Paul Buckholts of Our Thing dropped us a line with the following tidbits of news to share with you: "My twin brother John and I optioned the film rights and have adapted Stephen King’s zombie short story HOME DELIVERY (from Nightmares and Dreamscapes). Visionary Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura (The Midnight Meat Train) is attached to direct.
In addition the duo are also writing and producing a WWII vampire film entitled The Bleeding with Martin Weisz (The Hills Have Eyes 2) directing.
"Home Delivery" Synopsis:
When an international space mission investigating a strange phenomenon orbiting the Earth abruptly ends in disaster, the world soon witnesses a mass reawakening of the dead. As civilization collapses around them, the inhabitants of a small secluded island 20 miles off the coast of Maine become humanity's last stand.
The Bleeding Synopsis:
An American spy on assignment in Romania stumbles upon a dark secret that the inhabitants of the region have hidden for centuries. The lesser of two evils is questioned when he infiltrates a small unit of German SS soldiers who encounter a mysterious enemy while fighting partisans in The Carpathian Mountains... vampires.
