DC & Home Media Magazine Bring You The Reaper Awards!

There’s always something going on behind the scenes here at Dread Central because we’re always looking at cool ways to give more to our readers. That’s cause we love you. Rarely do the results of our efforts end up in the pages of The Hollywood Reporter, though!
So imagine our surprise when yesterday's THR had an announcement we’ve been waiting to make to you guys for a few weeks now: We’ve teamed up with the folks behind Home Media Magazine, a leader in the home entertainment industry, to bring you guys the first-ever horror DVD awards show, The Reaper Awards!
The actual awards ceremony itself will take place at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood on October 13th, 2009 (sadly, not a Friday, but cool nonetheless) and will feature all sorts of horror celebs and industry types, all hosted by myself & Uncle Creepy! Oh, it shall be, in a word, epic.
There’s going to be a huge push for this in the coming months, so you can bet your asses you’ll be hearing more about it soon!

Fantasia 2009 Call for Entries!Just a quick heads up to all you filmmakers or friends of filmmakers who want to try and get your movie into the single best genre film festival in North America, possibly the world: Fantasia.
Foy better be there to present an award or two. If he doesn't want to show his face, he should just dress like The Golden Bat, so that his face can be hidden behind a Dr. Phibes mask. The awards he should present include "The Worst Sci-Fi Channel Original Movie" and "Ulli Lommel Award For The Worst Direct To DVD Horror Movie Of The Year Written, Directed, Or Produced By Ulli Lommel."
Anyway, I'm very excited to hear this news.
