China and Japan are hard at work on an epic version of Legend of the Demon Cat, an adaptation of Japanese author Baku Yumemakura’s story. Moonstone Films explains that the film required the construction of an entire city, “…with lakes, rivers, palaces, caves, glamorous buildings and parks. The construction took 5 years at the cost of over 200 million US dollars.” They managed to justify this unbelievable endeavor by stating the city would then be converted into an amusement park after filming is complete.
