After an incredible opening weekend for San Andreas, news has come that the film’s star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, will soon be facing new and mystical perils in the remake of John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China.

According to The Wrap, Johnson is in negotiations to star in a remake of ’80s cult classic for 20th Century Fox.

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are penning the script with Johnson, and his producing partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia on board to produce through their 7 Bucks Entertainment banner.

The original starred Kurt Russell as Jack Burton, a trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in Chinatown between warring clans.
