Ultra-Indie Daily Dose: Lure And Gone Fishing
Hello, you glorious gluttons for all things indie horror! Are you just starving for the newest of the new, the most unknownest of the unknown? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Ultra-Indie Daily Dose! In this series, we’re going to pick a new game every day from an indie horror creator you’ve probably never heard of. No million-dollar budgets or factory productions. This is the space for the little guy with not but a developer toolkit and a dream. So if you’re down to roll the dice on something different, then stick around and check it out!
Welcome back for your Daily Dose of indie horror! Today we have two bite-sized horror games, which coincidentally, are about getting a bite. Gone Fishing by Raycast Games and Lure by Blue Moon Games. Put on your huge rubber boot-pants and grab a handful of worms, anglers, cause we got some fish to fish.
Lure is the shorter of the two, but that doesn’t make it any less great. You play as a person tasked with catching a fish from the pond near an abandoned shrine. Get you a guppy and a mysterious old man promises to give you some good money. Seems simple enough, right?
Gone Fishing is a little bit stranger. You play as a detective who is searching for some missing teens. Except, rather than call in professional divers or any backup, you decide to go out into the lake and fish up some evidence with your trusty rod. And catch a few fish while you’re at it. Unlike most fishing games, where you wait for something to bite, in this one you launch the hook like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat into the object in order to pull it in.
Both games are great and well worth trying out for yourself. You can download Lure by clicking here, and Gone Fishing by clicking here.
